Subject: Cleaning Before Anal SexQUESTION: Hello, I know that it is said to take a nice bath before anal sex and this I plan on doing. But I was wondering if it would do any harm to use a enema or douche type device on the anus. Not a professional one just one from a sex store. I just feel like I would feel extra clean if I did this. If so what are the "steps" for doing thing? Thanks! REPLY: Enemas are not recommended, especially if they are an on-going preparation. They screw up the natural bacterial balance in the rectum and that can cause problems in the long run. Have a bowel movement before anal sex, if possible, and a bath.
