Subject: Red Dots on Penis

QUESTION:

Hi. My boyfriend and I have been together for a few months, but known each other for 7 years. Ever since we have started to have sex a couple of months ago he has developed red dots on the end of his penis. They do not hurt, are not sores or even stick up really. They fade away and then get more red when we start messing around. But, they have appeared previously to any direct contact whatsoever (genitalia, hands, skin..). We never use any products or condoms so it seems almost impossible for this to be an allergic reaction. Do you think this is an std?

REPLY:

I think he should ask his doctor about this. I would wonder if this has happened in the past before you came along, i.e. is it just a natural coloration caused by blood engorging his penis, or is did it start after previous sexual encounters? Best to ask a pro.
